Also, go to CUSTOMIZE, DATA FORMAT. Here are various choices for  both formating and 
viewing names of people and places.

Did you uncheck "Format names and places (...)" when you imported?

What did you try?

I would think the following would work...

Search and Replace for:
field: Lists - Location
from: ", Nz" (don't enter the quotes)
to: ", NZ" (don't enter the quotes)

Be sure to check "Match case", "Ends with", and "Replace only found field...".
