So long as you don't move the pictures after you've linked them to Legacy, it doesn't matter where the pictures are. However, if you are linking lots of pictures, but not all the pictures you keep in the directory/folder you'll probably find it easier in the long run to use a special directory (with or without sub directories) for photos linked to Legacy.
I link copies of my photos which I have resized to no more than 800x600 pixels. This seems plenty for all the ways in which Legacy uses pictures - though as screen sizes increase it may prove too small for screen based use - eg the Slider Show. When Legacy resizes from this size for reports (with width of 200 or 400 pixels etc) I haven't found a problem.
All book reports and some others include the option to print the preferred photo for the individual and preferred photo for events. Presently you cannot print the photo for birth, baptism, death or burial or wedding in these reports.
To ensure photos are printed you need to check the Report Options - Pictures Tab AND the Include Tab for Event Pictures.
You say you can get the "box" - do you mean the picture frame or are you printing charts with a box around each individual?
"info" - info attached to the picture or the individual?
If you mean the picture you may have a memory problem with the program resizing your photos for the report.
Hope this helps, Cathy

Hi I am trying to print a picture (any picture) on any report, and cannot get the detail to print out. I can get the box and the info I included, (date etc) but not the actual picture. Can any help with this, and could you let me know which reports include the option of printing out pictures. I know there was a problem with this some time ago, but I would have hoped it was now resolved. (Do i need to have the pictures in the Pictures directory of Legacy directly (I have mine in Pictures/Funeral cards)? Thanks heaps Gwen Nadin
