Elizabeth

Many thanks for this. A couple of people have suggested teaching/Q&A
sessions etc. That is fine for a group based on one town, but I think the UK
is a bit big to hold regular face to face meetings - maybe once a year.

Does anyone out there run a group that covers a much wider area?

Jack

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Creating a User Groups in UK

John,
In 1998, I formed the Sacramento Legacy Users Group at
the Mission Oaks Community Center in Carmichael,
California. My purpose was to create a learning
environment for those individuals who desired to use
the genealogy software program Legacy as their device
for storing genealogical information.

We meet the 1st Thursday of each month 1-3pm. I
conduct the sessions as a classroom - I have someone
who does the keyboarding for me since it is easier for
me to concentrate on imparting information and I do
the teaching. I encourage participation from the
members and believe me, there is a great deal of that,
which makes it fun.

I am attaching one of my lesson outlines for your
information. If I can be of further help, please feel
free to contact me.

Hope this helps,
Elizabeth Kohler in Sacramento, California
