As well as the standard Legacy backup file, I would choose File > Backup Multimedia Files to save your pictures etc, and copy the resultant file to the flash disk. It is also helpful to save a copy of all your .usr files in the legacy directory, as these store your preferences. Not sure if there is an easy way to do this. I zip them all into a single zip file using WinZip.
You can download the latest Legacy update from their website at any time, so no real need to save on the flash drive, though you can if you would like, particularly if you have a slow internet connection.

Windows 98SE computer crashes forever. I backed up my Legacy family file
successfully, but now I'm thinking I should have done the entire Legacy
folder. If my computer dies and I buy a new one, will I be able to restore
the entire Legacy folder and continue working on my file, or will I have to
download Legacy again from the website?
