Which would end up being more work than just retyping the data! Gedcom is just a basic text file in a very specific format. If it's not created correctly, it doesn't get imported correctly. A gedcom file is imported into Legacy to match the format of the Legacy Family File. Within the Legacy Family File (based on Access) there are a jillion tables (well, not quite that many, maybe half a jillion) and very specific parameters for each field within those tables plus linking and lots of other stuff. It's just not that easy!

The icon on the new file should change to the Legacy icon, then click the filename.fdb and see if Legacy can open the file. good luck!
