Ok, I just did a search for those marked "Private" and came up with 211 people. In checking randomly through the search list NONE of the people had any checks in the private box on the person's information screen. I looked through the birth, baptism, death, burial, and event areas, including notes, and again, none were marked private. Does anyone know where all the areas that can be marked Private are located? OR, does anything double-bracketed count as private when doing the suggested search procedure???
Redo and make sure you followed the instructions below completely? I did as was written and my list came out just fine. At least all the individuals that came up that I have thus far checked out are all marked private. Very nice to know how to do this. C.G.
Ouimet, thanks for the post on this because it saves me a whole lot of grief to be able to check it out this way.
In the "Look for whom" dropdown list select "Individual" In the "Where to look" dropdown list select "Private" In the "How to look" dropdown list select "Equal to" In the "What to look for" dropdown list select "Private"
Then, click the "Create List" button.
Understanding the multiple-langage friendly feature and why there is so much of a hot field around the Private check box, the "Are you sure you want to do this?" pop-up for the private field Bob Janetzko mentioned also sounds nice. Don't have to have it, knowing the above, but it would be a good feature. I'm glad I turn out not to be the only person who has experienced this problem. :)
