I have scanned a lot of snippets of a Biographical Index and attach them to the detailed citations (original size approx 7.5cm W x 1.5cm H). To minimise disk storage I stored them as JPEG's taking care to select settings that ensure sharp reproduction when viewed on the screen and printed from my graphics program. The text is not generally as sharp viewed in the Legacy picture viewer as in the graphics program, but is quite acceptable. If I set the size to 100% in the edit window, it is about as sharp as the original scan. However, when I include the images with the sources printed with a Chronology report, the scanned text is very fuzzy, both on screen and printed. I have adjusted the image size in various ways, but no size setting comes close to the original sharpness, and I can't find any other adjustments. I'd like to print hem at exactly 100% original to maximise sharpness. Am I missing something? Any tips (other than the obvious to rescan as a BMP!).
Thanks,
Rob
