Since Adobe would like to sell more copies of the full blown Acrobat, it makes sense for them not to provide a validator to help 3rd party pdf creation software ...

What verification suite is this?

From a message I posted around 10/20/2004

About a moon ago, Sharon was having trouble with
PDF files. I was interested in this problem so I
cast about looking for a PDF validator. I wasn't
able to find much. There is a free, Java-based
toolkit called Multivalent that includes a .pdf
validator. I downloaded it but never got around
   to trying it. Until now.

Try googling Multivalent.

I assume it must be an Adobe Verification
suite but I can't find it. Can you show me where to get this?

You would think that there would be a PDF validations suite from Adobe. Maybe there is but I don't know about it.

And also, is the pdf format published somewhere?

Maybe, but again I know not where.
