A back-up of registry settings may not be a good idea (I don't know) but certainly a back-up of all the usr files in the Legacy folder. I did a transfer of all my usr files when I last upgraded my PC. But since some usr files contain path information, I made sure that the Legacy path and the data files path were the same on both PC's.
