My Wheeler ancestors have had bad luck with official records. One's
tombstone in Arlington National Cemetery says he was 114 when he died! No,
he wasn't. In one year in the Wythe Co., VA, birth records, three Wheelers
(out of three) have the wrong fathers listed. I watched a death certificate
being typed for a Wheeler in Wayne Co., IN; her maiden name is shown as
"Whalen" because that was what's in the death records. I paid $5 for it!

I just found a Lindsey relative listed in a cemetery book with the death
year 1835; he died in 1875.

Last year I found a William Calvin Hurst in the 1920 census, living with his
daughter's family. His tombstone, the county cemetery book, a Civil War
site, and all Internet sites that I have seen have his death year as 1919.

I don't believe anything anymore.
