Bill,

The four most common reasons for messages not appearing in the Legacy
User Group are:

1. The LUG subscriber inadvertently sends from an alternate email
address that is not subscribed to the list. (A subscriber would know
right away because their message would bounce back.)

2. The message was sent to the wrong address.
[email protected] is the correct address.
([EMAIL PROTECTED] is used by the list server
for sending purposes and should not be used by LUG subscribers. Messages
sent here will not bounce nor will they post. They end up in the
webmaster's "bad" LUG mailbox.)

3. The message was not sent in plain text format. HTML and Rich Text
Format (RTF) messages are blocked by our list server for several good
reasons: They require more server space for archiving than plain text
messages; they can hide viruses; people with visual impairment have
difficulty reading messages with colored text and tinted backgrounds;
and some email readers display HTML messages by including the code,
which is very hard to read through. (These messages are ignored by the
list server and neither post nor bounce.)

Please visit http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/plaintext.html for
help in turning off HTML in messages.

4. The message was sent with an attachment. Attachments are block by
the list server because of the potential for viruses. (These messages
are ignored by the list server and neither post nor bounce.)
