Yes Paula, exactly what I am saying. The conversations, letters, photos etc I use as sources (until something better comes along) definitely don't need any title formatting and yet show up as published (on the Summary tab) when using "NONE" or to repeat myself, to get a 'No' for published then they will have quotation marks which I don't always want. I hope there will be some response comes from Sherry.

Aha, June! I see what you're getting at. Yes, it would seem to be a minor bug in Legacy -- Sherry?

Master Source "Formatting of Title:" is set to "None" -- Summary Tab in Master Source list shows "Published: Yes"
Not accurate at all for my mother-in-law (personal knowledge) ! ;) I would guess it should be "No" or left blank.

Further contemplation... "Formatting of Title" should be used just for that--how to print the source Title in citations. I think the "(publ.)" and "(unpubl.)" are there to help us pick a standard format for the source citations (per the explanation Rob sent earlier), not necessarily to indicate the source has been published or not.

Sooo, on the Summary Tab, I think the "Published: Yes/No" should be dependent on something else---like, on whether or not any "Publication Facts" have been entered. If Facts entered, then "Published: Yes"; else "Published: No"....?

Just some ruminations from Texas today...

Tks for the info Rob. It is good to have more info abt the actual
formatting but it still does not explain tho (does it, or am I being
thick?) why it shows 'published' on the Summary tab when 'None' is used
when obviously (I think) it shouldn't. It is that aspect of it that
started confusing me :-(
