Yes I know all about closing and reopening notes - and the difference between what it looks like on screen and what it looks like in reports. We're just talking about tabs.

I've found a solution that works for me. I find I prefer to use keystrokes that are universal rather than remember to use CTRL-tab in Legacy.

Also it's easier to transcribe into a TurboNote that sits on top of the image than into Legacy Note direct. The tabs stick when copying and pasting to Legacy. Generally it is only the spacing from the first column to second that needs adjusting in Legacy - because the name can be such different lengths and tab lengths are different.

As I said, currently web pages aren't my thing and I know very little about html. I'm sure what you said made sense when you typed it ( replace all < > with < >) but it hasn't come through in plain text. :-( Others may be interested in what you meant.

I don't see what the difference is between hitting tab in one program and
hitting ctrl/tab in Legacy is. One thing to be aware of is that formatted
text pasted into Legacy sometimes looks great -- until you close and re-open
the note. Legacy shows -- initially -- Word formatting, for example, but
strips it out on saving the note. On the other hand, whatever works for a
user is what is important; if it's good, it's good.

If your output is html, you can build the table in your html editor, replace
all < > with < >, and paste it in notes, it will format as a proper table in
your web pages. See Event 7

which was built using ctrl-tab in notes.
