Hi Charlotte Jack,
As you know user32.dll is in the C:\Windows\System32 file, which is where it should be, so if you have copies and pasted it to somewhere else it should be returned. There seem to be two possibilities here:
1. The path from Legacy to the dll is wrong in which case reinstalling Legacy should overcome the problem
2. A broken dll. A new one can be obtained by entering user32.dll into Google.
If you have WindowsXP home with SP2 (not sure about SP1) there should also be one in C:\Windows\Service Pack Files\i386. Again the above applies.
Additionally there should be one in \Service Pack Uninstal but I doubt if that would cause you any problems.

I tried to download the latest update and got an error message Windows user32.dll not found. I did a search found a user32.dll file in the system32 folder copied it and pasted it in the windows folder. Now when I try to install the update I get and error message and the program closes and I get a screen requesting to send a message to Microsoft. Help Charlotte Jack
