where is General Information used in Legecy? Is it required?

I'm not sure I follow you but think you may be saying that when you run an Individual Report with Address for yourself, the email is correct? but is incorrect under Help ...
This simply means you've updated your address in your own record - but you haven't updated the Compiler address which is showing under Help OR Options > Compiler Information.
Legacy doesn't know that you are the compiler. You have to put your new address in both places.
Mine is the other way around. I always update the Compiler address and put this on all reports - but I never print my individual address - and it is several years out of date ;-)
