Hi Jan,
What changes? I just did a backup and restore with the 4 Feb update and it worked exactly the same as before. I can't recall a change.
Are you meaning the 4 Feb update or previous 26 Oct one?

If your backup fits on a floppy disk, you may be meeting an issue that was around some time ago and I don't know whether it still exists as it's a long time since my file fitted on a floppy. Don't take the floppy out of the drive until you've closed down Legacy. The file isn't properly closed or something (I don't know the technical jargon) until Legacy itself is closed.

Does this help? If not, can you be more specific?
The backup and restore does work - including from computer to computer.
However if the program you have on the other computer is much older than the one you are using, then you'll have problems as the backup is not compatible as there are occasional changes in database structure. I think it's still compatible with the last of the Legacy 4 updates but not earlier.

Cheers,
Cathy

Since I have subscribed to the latest edition of Legacy, I have been unable
to get a readable copy of my backup. I have read the directions and
evidently do not understand them. I am sorry I ever got this version. Why
they ever changed the backup I'll never understand. My choices are to input
my whole tree individually to my laptop or use another program. I contacted
Legacy support but they just told me to read the directions. Oh well,
