The whole point is: did Legacy folks *intend* to create a version that doesn't work properly on earlier operating systems. I doubt it. And if they did, then it seems to me that they are obligated to give some sort of notice, unless they want to alienate a good chunk of their user base. Surely they must have an old Win98SE machine *somewhere* that they can try things on.

Hi Ruth Ann,
Sorry you are having PDF problems. I suspect it *is* an Operating System issue. XP is OK but 98 isn't. :-((
Surely on your laptop, if you have Acrobat Reader 3 - you are using either Win98 or earlier.
Those who have responded and indicated which operating system they are using split this way.
Seems Legacy have fixed PDF for v7 on an XP machine (I haven't updated to 7 to find out) but broken it for 98.

I've now upgraded to Reader 6.0.3, and am still unable to read pdf files created with the latest Legacy build. Files created on 12 December (previous build) read just fine. I've also done a cold reboot in case of any system problem, and no change. No, I'm not using anything other than the default fonts.
A look at "old" (generated December 2004) pdf file with a text editor shows a font Arial, Bold statement. Newly generated pdf file has Font << >> on one line. I don't know what is supposed to end up in the file, but this sure looks like it *could* indeed have an undefined or blank font. And the error message is some variant of "font not set".
By the way, newly generated PDF files also will *not* read in Acrobat Reader 3.0, which is still on my laptop. So it's not likely a system problem.
I may be *very* glad that I normally run my laptop (with my master data file) one or more builds of Legacy *behind* the desktop, which always has a copy of the data file. The 26 Oct 2004 build still on it *does* produce OK PDF files. They're even readable in Reader 3.0.
