Hi Leon,
I think currently you have to work around this.
I posted this a couple of days ago under subject: IGI Search Feature - tiny problem
It was a different issue but the same need to change tagged group by alphabetical grouping.

I would think you could tag all people with surnames H-Z (I think this is what you mean) - using Surname Master List and Show List. However, unlike the location list, you can only do one entry at a time - so it would be quicker to do a search
Individual - Surname - starts with - H etc

In your case you want to tag A-K and then untag 1 for those who have this new tag. You'll need to be a little more inventive for surnames starting with L or retag those from Oliver Lummy down to end of L's.

Hope that helps,
Cathy

Hi!

I have been using the IGI search capability and it is great!
Thanks for all of Legacy's developer's efforts!

As always, we users always need just "one" more tweak -- here is my problem:

I first Tagged all my ancestors with Tag #1.
I then started a search of all tagged #1 folks (in my case, it is over
30,000 folks) and needless to say, I stopped the search with many people
remaining to be searched. (Note: I only used 5 hits / person in the search
-- but it was still too long to wait till the end.)

I then starting viewing the results and correcting my Database starting
alphabetically thru the list until the last IGI search had ended.

So, I am ready to restart my search say from "Oliver Lummy", who was the
last completed IGI search person, and finish the complete list.

What I want to do is "Untag" everyone before Oliver Lummy (alphabetically) &
leave all the others with tag #1.
Then I want to restart the search on only those with tag #1 using the Filer
option.

The problem is, how to untagged the already completed IGI search folks????

The only way I can find is to manually do one at a time. For a few hundred
people, this would work, but not for 1,000s of people.

Is there an IGI "Completed" Search tag associated with everyone that could
be used?

It is not clear how to tag folks with say Tag #2 who are alphabetically less
than (<) "Lummy"+"Oliver".
If I could do that, then a combination of Tag 1 & 2 will get the results
that I need.

Any ideas out there??
