I agree 200%, Legacy is a wonderful tool for finding connections
and/or duplications.  My area of research is geographic - but nearly
everyone is named Mackay! ..
Currently I have about 100 trees. The largest (my own) is 3,500
people, the others range from 150 down to singles. All in the one
database as I am still finding connections to my own tree. I run "find
duplicates" often, also reports by locations etc.
Can't honestly think of a single "minus* among all the pluses
