Gail,
Does every location in Legacy require the sort to be set separately?

One person mentioned leading commas in Legacy Companion charts. No comment from anyone using TreeDraw. Relatives *need* to see charts showing how they fit into complex family groups with many intermarriages.

I have mixed feelings about leading commas in GEDCOMS. Relatives around the world use genealogy programs other than Legacy and need to be able to update my GEDCOM files without editing every location. My files have estimated dates or guessed locations of death rather using the Living flag. Location notes are lost in file transfers to other genealogy programs.

My web pages would use the SHORT location name, but all the sorting in the
database (and the use of the handy GEO Location Database) would be done through
the LONG location name.

Can anyone see any potential problems with this before I go editing hundreds of
short location names?
