Subject: [LegacyUG] Software limitations (this is not negative!)
In a week's worth of use, I seem to be pushing Legacy to its limits (version 5, deluxe/paid, latest download). This is NOT a negative post!
- I'm running against limitations inherent in GEDCOM importing/exporting.
- I run up against exposing living persons' names in web page generation.
- In moving from word-processed form to database form, I'm constrained by the lack of editing/formatting ability.
But you know what?
I don't REALLY see those as problems. That's because Legacy appears to be a mature project, with an ongoing base of active users. It can only get better. As those limitations become non-issues years from now, I'll be ecstatic. In the meanwhile, so long as I know the boundaries, I can work with that. The fact that there WILL be improvements, and the fact that there are others actively helping me to use it - to accomplish what I want to accomplish in sharing my research - makes it the ideal choice.
