Hello Dave,

I have made a family tree CD for all my relatives who have contributed to my
database, I've called this CD " The CRAMER Family Tree " for the wont of a
better name, all the information for this CD is in a folder under the same
name in " My Documents " this folder contains a file named "pictures" as in
the Legacy Program folder.
I opened Legacy in my program folder on the C drive, copied over all my
photos from the pictures file in Legacy to the new file in my documents. Then
the contents is burned to a CD.

The relative is supplied with the Standard version of Legacy, with the
instruction that when it is installed on their computer, to then copy over
all the photos from the "pictures" file on the CD to "Pictures" in the
Legacy program, after importing the GEDCOM file. All the photo's then open
in the correct location in the database. I did this same procedure last week
when I had to re-install Legacy into my computer, as instructed by Sherry of
the Legacy support team, works like a dream! Thanks Sherry!!

Bernie.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Exporting tagged data

Sorry if this question has been answered before.

I want to export a tagged group of relatives, and export them as a Legacy
file, that is a complete legacy file, with pictures, sources, the lot.

Creating the new Legacy database is easy of course, but how do I export each
picture that is linked to a source etc.

Once done I can supply this researcher with the standard version of Legacy,
and the data files, pictures etc, all on a CD.
Theoretically all he'll have to do is install Legacy, create the pictures
sub-directory, and copy the data files over, and pictures of course.

There's not too many folks to export, barely 100 people, but lots of
sources, and an equal number of pictures.

The help file doesn't really cover this as far as I can see.

Many thanks
Dave Cripps in Hobart
