Glenny, You're on the right track. You're asking good questions.
Using their system, you use the Marriage number, NOT the person number. If Francis and Lucretia are marriage 38, I would file anything about their entire family under tab 38. Themselves, photos, kids, and so on. Now, since Francis Jr did in fact get married too, if I were looking for Francis Jr specifically, I might need to check tab 38, or I might need to check under his own tab for his own marriage. The system makes sense when you think about it. When your kids live at home they're part of YOUR family. When they marry and move out, they form their own family, and you would file that same kid's papers under THEIR family. It's a great idea. The ONLY problem I have with it, is that it depends on that magic marriage ID number not changing. If we could count on that number not changing, ever, that would be great.
