Nonsense; your assumption can not be supported -- nearly 100% of the Legacy beta team are regular, day-to-day users of the program, some of us back to the earliest version. We use it in every way imaginable on a very wide range of computer configurations from archaic to top of the line. As a group, we know the program well and twist it about in ways unlikely to occur in 'real life.' It is, however, a complex program, much richer in features than its supposed rivals, and we are not perfect. Bugs do go undiscovered; enhancements don't -- for the moment -- live up to their full potential; improvements of personal value are set aside in favour of other developments. These are certainly frustrations, for both users and testers, but such is the nature of the beast. To expect otherwise is naive.

OH, ok NOW I understand a lot more about why when things are fixed or improved, frequently other things get broken. There is no beta testing of Legacy. Beta testing, done even by the folks who write FTM, involves public exposure of the software to real world use by users, not devlopers or even development testers. It recognizes that real users frequently use software in ways that do not occur to the developers of new software or even software testers. What Sherry has described is an internal alpha testing program, and certainly is not like any beta testing program I've ever been involved with. jr Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
