For one thing entering an estimated date will greatly ease the pain of trying to find one individual amongst many with the same name. I have more individuals by the name of Thomas Evans than I care to think about and without the date it can be difficult to pinpoint the one I might be interested in. Something to consider.....

Hi Cathy
I agree with you but all of the discussion of the pros and cons of
LEGACY made me want to try something different [just for a minute] so back
to leaving the unknown blank as usual

Hi Sandra,
When you don't have any indication of a birth date, unless you decide to
estimate a date, why not leave it blank? Blank means you don't know.
I just tried entering a ? for a date and Legacy changed it to Unknown. I
don't know whether that has always happened as I never enter a ? for a
date.
Cheers,
Cathy
