Robin I always use "Circa"
i.e if a birth is registered in the Jan-Mar qtr 1876 I enter it as "cir Mar 1876" (just type "c 3/1876"). Then Legacy recognises it as a proper date and I know that with a month and year then it is from a BMD index entry (I put the entry details in Notes) Jack -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Robin Dimes Sent: 12 May 2005 00:28 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [LegacyUG] Jan to Mar, Apr to Jun, Jul to Sep, Oct to Dec I am sorry if this has been asked too many times before... If I know something occurred, like a birth date, in a particular quarter, such as in Jan - Mar 1876, what is the preferred method of entering this ? I have tried Jan-Mar 1876, Jan/Mar 1876 and now am leaning towards Q1 1876 (because this will appear on the Pedigree View, the others will not). What is the recommended entry format ?
