Before you do the "Set Relationships", try doing a "Clear Relationships"
first. I've sometimes found that it gets it right then.

My father married my mother's first cousin and it correctly shows her as
"1st cousin once removed" rather than "Wife of Father"

Mary,

Legacy shows nearest blood relative when relationships are activated.
When you marry, if the person is not related to you any shape or form,
relationship will report your partner as husband/wife depending on
gender. If the person you marry is related in some other fashion, then
it will show this *instead of* husband/wife.
