Sherry/Ron,

Thanks. That's what I'm looking for.

Ron, I'm not really so concerned with the number of names per page. What I really want is a text file with certain info (name, birth date/place, death date/place, etc.) that I can use as an online "cheat sheet" when doing web searches so I don't have to keep the Legacy db open. Looks like the Name List is what I need.

Ron Ferguson spoke thusly:
Hi Ed,

I think what you are looking for can be found in "Name List" where you can preview and print. I have mine set to give the RIN, Name, birth, death and marriage but I think you can vary this. Do note that you will only get around 28 names per page of A4.

Ron Ferguson

Subject: [LegacyUG] desire to generate a file from the Index View

Is there a way to create a text file from the information presented in the Index View for all entries in the database? I realize that I could (and have) define a "printer" to generate a text file, but I can find no way to print the Index View, nor can I find a way to export only the spefic Index View information to a text file. Basically, I'd like a CSV or tab separated file from the info in the Index View. Am I missing something simple?

Thanks,
Ed Lawler
