Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Considering switching to Legacy
I went from TMG (which I purchased at considerable cost) to Legacy about 4 years ago and have never regretted it for a minute. Yes there were things about TMG that I liked, but there was an enormous learning curve. I began with the Standard (free) version of Legacy - Version 3. I liked it so much that I upgraded to the Deluxe Version. I have since happily paid to upgrade to Deluxe Versions 4 and 5. I will happily upgrade to 6 when it arrives. My original purchase price, plus the upgrades to date have still not cost me as much as TMG Gold did 5 years ago.
I love Legacy so much (despite still having an occasional grumble about a number of reporting issues) that I am going to offer a class in using Legacy at the Adult Education Centre at which I work. (Apart from anything else I can legally install it on every computer in our IT room, each participant can install it on their home PC - and I will be strongly reccommending that they pay for the Deluxe version if for no other reason than to support the continued development of the program.) It hasn't taken me 4 years to decide to do this - just that I've not long started working there!
I can honestly say that since exporting my data from TMG 4 years ago I have never touched it again. Make the switch - I'm sure you won't regret it. And no, this is NOT a paid commercial!
Cheers Jan
