Just wanted to reply in general to this topic rather than to each (very informative) mail.
I think I've taken a number of very good points from various people. I really like that I can effectively configure my locations to be almost any construction I want yet show them in a different sort order in the master list (great tip). Also I've learnt that no matter how I structure the location my short description can be structured differently and I have a choice of outputting either the location or short description in my reports. I can also show the short description on screens rather than the FULL location. I can also still use the Geo database and keep my own location/short descriptions and just take the latitude/longitude settings. Thanks for all the comments on this topic.
