Hello;
This rather continues from "Re: [LegacyUG] Descendant Narrative Book - child
status", but a definitely-new branch subject. I am in the throes of
producing new Legacy Pedigree webpages, and will begin with a <snip> from my
earlier:
"> I also found that the parent links shown in the "Family Links" box don't
work as expected, moving back to the subject individual rather than to
either the natural or adoptive parents."
#1. Using the latest build now, the above is only partially true - I had
not noticed earlier, but the dual-parent-set link within the "Family Link"
box does swap the parents, while remaining on the current individual, which
would be necessary given the display format. However, the initial set of
parents shown on the outputted webpages were the adoptive parents, rather
than "my preferred" bloodline parents. This may have occurred by reason of
the adoptive parents happening to be the last parent-set opened in Family
View, I don't know.
WISHLIST#1: It seems to me that if an individual has multiple parents, we
need to be able to designate the "preferred" parent-set (as available in
designating preferred spouse or child), and webpage/report output should be
in accord with that designation. Alternatively perhaps the output could be
in chronological order, although that might not be the preference of some
users (???)
#2. Using the "Web Page Creation" module / Graphics, I chose *Use a solid
background color with the adjacent selection-box showing white, but the
background came out pale blue. I will note that I did not actually open
that color box and choose white, which may have caused that minor glitch
(?), and because I'm using my laptop right now which doesn't display colors
perfectly, it's not completely certain just what happened, but needs a
check.
#2a. On same as above, on either the same Graphics tab or perhaps on the
Formatting tab, it would be helpful if we had a tool for selecting our
preferred color of text, which I'll call WISHLIST#2.
#3. After Legacy-outputting the pedigree webpages, I always run them thru
Frontpage in order to add my own custom borders. My website uses borders
top, left and bottom, and I find that something within the Legacy html
causes a real mess when one adds a left border. I've asked before that
Legacy modify it's html so that adding borders will not trigger this
problem, but never got a response, so that's my WISHLIST#3.
I'm in the midst of a major update to my website, so there may be more
later. Thanks, LUG.
