In Source Details Text or Comments (depending on what is most appropriate for the individual situation) I make a note about what the source is referencing. That way, if one source only provides part of the information I can easily see that. If I later obtain another source which provides a date or a place or whatever, I make note of that also.

Yes, but doesn't that source the date, place, etc. too? Even though they are
blank? I'm looking for a way to source the relationship WITHOUT a date, place,
etc.

Then I have two questions...

1> When all you know is that X married Y (no date or place), how/where do you
source it? Example: source is an obit which lists a daughter by her married
name.

2> Then later, when you learn the date/place of the marriage, how/where do you
source it? Example: source is the marriage return for above daughter.
