I'll have to disagree with you there, Elizabeth, because the final build of
Legacy v4 and the first build of Legacy v5 could both open the same Family
Files. The 12 June build of Legacy v5 is the first time that the file has
been converted - before this update, I've been able to open *all* my Legacy
v5 files in Legacy v4 with no problem - I do it all the time when testing
problems for those using Legacy v4.

I have a file last used in the 26 Mar 2005 build of Legacy v5 which I just
now opened in the 17 Nov 2003 (final) build of Legacy v4 with no problem.
However, my "work" file which has been converted with the latest build can't
be opened in Legacy v4.

Thanks for using Legacy.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] New Legacy Update - 12 June 2005, Version 5.0.0.247

Sherry,
Legacy 5 changed December 18, 2003 so that a reload of the Nov 2003 program
CD would not open a data file. Dec 18 was the build to keep the new
child-parent sources in a Legacy 5 GEDCOM.

A full download of _each_ Legacy program file as a personal backup was
recommended by a list participant who couldn't wait weeks for a replacement
for the build that affected a family book report shortly before his reunion.
