I've been using Event Descriptions and have been exporting gedcoms (and
Event Descriptions) to both phpGedView and TNG. There's a checkbox on the
Customize screen for gedcom export that allows you to move Event
Descriptions to Event Notes (for programs that don't support Event
Descriptions).

Jean, Thanks. Nice feeling to be on the same wavelength. ;) I've been
off
the list for a few months, just getting back into gear.

Paula,
Yes, I believe that somewhere I was told that the description field from
Event's don't export. And a second yes... to the problem being that other
programs don't accept it, not that it doesn't export into the gedcom. So
my
phasing wasn't good. should have said other programs can't read the
description field and that is why I try to avoid using it.
