Advanced tagging (Rt click on any tag, or go to Name List/options) has most of what you need. Select ancestral or descendant lines as desired, and tag them. Reserve one unused tag for the completed group. Inspect each group, and add or subtract as desired, then tag that group with the final tag. Once they are tagged, you can use that as a focus group or store it as a focus group. Legacy tagging is such a great feature!
