No, you are still stuck with this sentence which is why I don't use the
Descendant Narrative Report :-( but use the Descendant Book Report instead.
You can change the header their to Known Children or whatever instead of
Their children were:
However there has been a change to reports. You can now embed photos into
an RTF report - See Options (not Report Options but the main program
menu) > Customise - Other Tab - so editing an RTF copy of a report is now
more feasible.

I've been away for about a year and just recently downloaded version 5.
About my only issue with Legacy before was the inability to delete or change
the sentence in the descent narrative report that says "Bob and Marge Smith
had 2 children, Sally and Chris" or something to that effect. I often don't
know how many children the couple had and I want to delete this or change it
to Bob and Marge Smith had the following children. Is there now a way to do
this? I looked but couldn't find a way.
