Transportation of convicts from England is one of the main reasons that the British colonised Australia. They were transported for a whole variety of crimes - some in our eyes very minor.

If you have a convict, you likely have a very early settler. Besides there are better records available for where they came from etc. Why not tag convicts?

Besides that they are regarded as amongst the most interesting ancestors.
I don't have any. My ancestors migrated as free settlers :-( - much harder to find their origins across the seas as some came before civil registration and censuses.
