You do not give a lot of explanation as to how you are locked out
of the general notes page. Do you mean that the notes icon is
missing from the area under the persons name on the family view?
If that is the case you can right click in that icon area and
bring up a screen to customize the icons that display. There is
also a button on that customize screen to reset the icons to the
defaults. That should bring back the notes icon.
What about when you click on a person to edit their info, is the
notes icon missing there too? If so I do not know how to change
that list of icons.
I don't know what else to suggest. I haven't heard of any
customize option that would eliminate the notes.
