My IGI frustrations were solved in 60 seconds by my grandson from Pennsylvania. The solution may help others fighting IGI.

Never before in my life have I ever thought of or used a Desk Top icon as if it were the actual data file itself. They've always been shortcuts to a file. For IGI Location Databases, I "downloaded" to "disk" believing the file went to my hard drive.with icons showing up on my desktop for each downloaded file. When I "imported", it seemed obvious to me to import from the hard drive where the file was.

NO NO NO. My grandson imported from the *desktop* and everything worked without a glitch.

Sheese!!!
