Ron, let me see if I understand you correctly. First, you performed some sort of evaluation of Legacy and thought it to be the product that best met your needs - so you paid ~$30 to buy it. Then, you told Millenia that you thought there was an important feature that they should implement. Surprisingly, they responded back to you that they agreed. Evidently that did not satisfy you so you pressed them for a deadline. Again surprisingly, they accommodated your request and gave you a "best guess" time estimate. (I assume you were still not a member of their board at that point.)
Now, here we are "a year and a half" later and they've told you that your suggestion could not be implemented in the "soon to be released" upgrade - and you're angry. So now you want to reward these good people who did their best to accommodate your wishes, by trying to sour the attitude of all the other users, or potential users, who generally are satisfied with the value the product has delivered. Ron, I'm sorry that you have chosen this venue to vent your selfish anger. You have done a dis-service to all the other listers. The feature you talk about may be a very good one but that still doesn't give you the right to rant like this on a public forum. Move on to other products if you must but quit your whining on this public list. I appreciate the people of Millenia for trying to help us see their future direction. I think they have been more than generous, and candid, in their personal interactivity with the members of this user list. I hope the actions of people like Ron don't succeed in stifling that. However, first we were told a witness function would be in version 5. It wasn't. We were then told that the witness function was more involved than originally anticipated and thus did not make it into version 5. I appreciated Ken's explanation. We were then told that there were still plans to include a witness function because Millennia considered this a very important feature. Now, a year and half later, a new version of Legacy is on the horizon and a witness function still has not been included. I totally agree that Millennia is adding the bells and whistles that will sell the most programs. My complaint is that those of us who are interested in a witness function (and believe me, there are considerably more people than what you apparently think there are) have been strung along for more than a year and a half. Millennia has every right to include the options that they feel will feed their bottom line. But at least be honest with the users. Don't tell us a requested feature will be implemented and a year and a half later there is no sign of that feature nor does there appear to be any plan to offer that feature. I would have moved on long ago if I had known that I would never see this feature in Legacy. -- Ron Bernier --On Thursday, August 25, 2005 8:50 AM -0700 Glen Ballard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Ron, > > I suspect that the programming efforts needed to put this feature in > would out weigh the cost benefit.
