Please could you explain this more, Brian (or someone else)?

This sounds like you are advising against installing v.6 and then
uninstalling v.5 afterwards, which I agree would be a mistake. What I
understood the original question to be (and which I'd like to know too) is,
is it necessary to uninstall v.5 at all, or can you simply install v.6 over
the top?

The website advises uninstalling, but when I was upgrading v.4 to v.5 I
checked with Support, who said it was OK to install over the top. I did this
and have had no problems, though I'm not into registry tweaks, and have
plenty of HD space to spare. All I really want to know is, when/if I decide
to upgrade to v.6, can I install over the top again, or would it be better
practice to remove v.5 first?
