In any business there are additional costs beyond the actual cost of
postage.
* labor involve to pack the product.
* cost of box
* cost of packing tape
* cost of postage
* Tax in the shipping cost (YES)
Just so you know -- In the state of California (where I live) the
state requires a tax on shipping. Why, because the business is billing
beyond the actual cost of the postage cost. And the state wants it tax
on that revenue. Who pays for it you do! Welcome to the 21th century
business practices.
Do all businesses do this? the answer is NO and YES. it all depends upon
their policies in shipping.
I hope I answered the GASP! in shipping cost
