I like the idea of the search of DNA databases. But it would be nice
if a relative is found if their DNA sequence could be extracted from
the database. Keying in all those numbers is tedious and prone to
clerical error (known as clerical mutation).

Could a genealogy relationship diagram be expanded to show the DNA
differences? It may be a stretch to have a program automatically fill
in the DNA patterns of derived relatives, but that also would be a
significant advantage over any other application. See a graphic
example of what describing here.

You have great possibilities when you have both the genealogy
information and the DNA results. A lot of programs can calculate MRCA
(Most Recent Common Ancestor) but you could have the ability to show
the probability of commonalities with each ancestor even if the
genealogy information didn't show the connection. This could invoke
genealogy research in areas unthought-of before.

One of the short falls of MRCA calculations is that the results are
the number generations to the common relative. Conversion to a date of
the common relative usually uses an average generational time of 25
years. If the information is in the database of the generations and
their birth dates a timeline could be produced showing the most likely
time of the common relative.
