Carl,
64 mb RAM is low compared to entry level computers with 256 RAM in weekend
advertising. Multimedia computers have been used the last few years with 1
GB RAM. I started using the Internet in 1995 with 12 mb RAM and could barely
connect with Windows 95 Preview.

Legacy 6 might be looking for files that are not supplied with older
versions of Windows. I don't know if Legacy 6 replaced any of the files that
were used with Legacy 5 on old computers. This computer had Legacy 5
standard loaded after Legacy 6 to check on some of the program changes. I've
deleted Legacy 6 USR files and reset most of the reports checking on some of
the report options.

A high speed Internet connection and personal backup of program files is
part of the cost of using downloadable software. Legacy 5 has had 47 public
downloads with another promised by Dave Berdan to fix the date problem which
also exists in Legacy 6.

Users of older computers have reported variations in another genealogy
program besides Legacy, perhaps due to changes in tools used by software
developers as they prepare for future versions of Windows.

I've used XP since release day and disconnected the old computer with ME
shortly before Legacy 6 was released. Legacy book reports used to have
different results on ME-XP computers than Win98 & Win2000. Another genealogy
program had different results for reports on ME and XP. -- Elizabeth
