If you open the GEDCOM in a text editor like Notepad you should
see, near the beginning of the file, a listing showing which
program generated the GEDCOM.
Here is a sample taken from a GEDCOM I have.
1 SOUR PAF 2.31
2 NAME Personal Ancestral File(R)
1 DEST PAF
1 DATE 5 APR 1999
1 SUBM @S1@
1 FILE TRSFRPAF.GED
As you can see it was generated by Personal Ancestral File
version 2.31.
Once you know which program created the file in the first place
if you post back here with that name someone who uses that
program may be able to tell you what the tags mean. As Mark Lang
said in his reply they look like program specific tags and may
have no equivalent in Legacy.
They may also be able to tell you where the "CHAN: NOTE 21:57:15"
came from and what it means. I think that is something legacy
added to your marriage notes because it did not understand the
tag and wanted to preserve the value for you.

Hi,
I am trying to import a gedcom file into my v.5D Legacy, but have come
up against an "error" message that states unrecognised items
_ASID
_FILE
_WEB
Can anyone please tell me what these tags represent and what is the best
way to deal with them?
Also, during transfer I have a note inserted into marriage notes for
several marriages in the format CHAN: NOTE 21:57:15
Does anyone recognise what this might mean, and know how it should be
dealt with?
Cheers,
Paul
