The experiences with Legacy 6 and Windows 98SE has been highly variable. Some users with reasonably powerful machines and lots of memory are having terrible problems while others are experiencing no difficulty.

In my case I find that I can run Legacy 6 on a Pentium (original version does not even have MMX support) 150 MHz with only 96 MB of main memory under Windows 98SE. One thing you must do however is update the Microsoft Data Access Component (MDAC) and the Jet Engine support. These are available from Microsoft via the Windows Update service. These two components are essential to proper operation of the underlying database in Legacy 6.0.

I do not know if those who have reported their problems with Legacy 6 had updated these two components or not but I suggest you update your machine with MDAC and the Jet Engine upgrades for Windows 98 then try Legacy 6.0, you may be one of the lucky ones.

Have you tried the fixes for PDF errors on the Legacy Support pages? There are several known errors depending on the version of the Acrobat Reader you are using and the kind of error you are experiencing.

He should be able to. The last build of V5 was the same database

him.

Do I understand correctly that V6 only works well on Windows XP? I am still on Windows 98SE and before I updated my V5 Delux recently, it worked beautifully. Since that time, there are many things it will not do (like create a PDF file) and I have done hundreds of these in the past.

Am I understanding this correctly? Any further help would be very much appreciated.
