Another option you might try rather than deleting these people you want to
keep track of is to unlink them from their families. This will leave them
in
your database should you ever want to link them again and you won't have
to
reenter your information.

Thanks Karen, this is really useful to me. Whilst the details of this
individual are now private, on the descendants chart it still shows the
existence of an individual by printing the word 'private'. Unlinking has
removed this word. I've a lot to learn and I've had so much help already
from this user group - it's great!
