Margaret, I'm going to have you do a complete uninstall and then reinstall. After you uninstall Legacy, with Windows Explorer find and look in the C:\Legacy folder or what ever folder you had Legacy installed in. Within this folder you will find several files remaining that you will need to delete. Carefully delete all of the files in the Legacy folder but DO NOT delete any of the folders like the Data folder, Picture Folder or Web Folder as these folders hold your data and you don't want to accidentally delete your family file or pictures. All the other files should be deleted. You'll need to reset your preferences after you reinstall.
Download the Standard Edition from our website. If you have the Deluxe Edition, you'll need to go to Help > Unlock Legacy Deluxe to unlock the Deluxe features after you reinstall. When you reinstall, make sure that all other programs are shut down and your anti-virus software is disabled. Thanks for using Legacy. Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone has had this quirk with Deluxe Legacy 6 version 6.0.0.70 that I have encountered it twice so far on my machine, and would like to know if it is a bug or something that I just need to adjust at my computer. I have checked my users guide to no avail so far, si I will explain it and what my machine is that I am running Legacy on.... I have on two occasions so far in the last couple of days added two people to the computer whose sets of parents are already in my files, and if I dare press the "parents Icon" to link my new person to their parents who are already existing parents in my files, the menu pops up okay and then goes onto what I call "Freeze Mode" before it even wants to show me the list of couples. It totally locks the computer up at that stage, and there is nothing to release it except to hit the "Hot Boot" and restart the computer again. I run Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2, and have set the Compatibility Mode at Windows 2000 incase that was anything to do with it (but it seems not) after it did the same drama the second time I am a bit scared that if this continues it could harm my hard drive by hitting the "Hot Boot" and not being able to exit Legacy or do a save etc, and so rather curious what the heck is going on. My computer is a Pentium 4R and have about 1 gig of Ram, so that should be no dramas, in fact the whole new computer is barely 6 weeks old.. I have a bit over 35,000 persons in my file, but that should be no drama. Has anyone else had this happen yet, or any clues that might rectify my drama for the next time this might occur? Will be pleased with any suggestions to try.
