Subject: [LegacyUG] Bad date for 29 Feb
Having been waiting for the list to start up again, I found that I must
have
been unsubscribed for some reason (not by me!)
Anyway, I have a marriage that took place on 29 February 1728. I presume
that should correctly read 29 February 1728/29. However, the system won't
accept 1728, 1729, 1728/29 or even 1727/28 and flags a bad date.
As I have found several sources to this date, I presume that 1728 was a
leap
year under the old calendar - or was it?
Jack
