Thank you all for responding. I have bought the program in the meantime. I also do have Access and have limited knowledge of it. I'm sure that I can discover work arounds for things that are different from FTM. I don't understand the "tag" feature as yet. I tried to learn TMG but it's more complicated than I care to get for the moment. I wanted a program I could link pictures to, not one that embeds the pictures. So I will try this for a while. Thank you all.

One of the features I use a lot in FTM is the custom report. Is there a similar report in Legacy where I can search for all specifics such
as all records that contain Elmira, etc.

Legacy does not have a custom report feature although there are some
that are very flexible and cater to many needs. However there is
usually a way of accomplishing what's needed even though it may take
two or more steps -- and that's without having to using Access.

If in your example "Elmira" is a location then Legacy has a feature
to "tag" every individual that uses (contains) that location.
Depending on the report format required these records may then be
directly printed based on that tag selection or may need to be copied
to a temporary file for reporting purposes.

BTW, I know many genealogists that have switched from FTM to Legacy
and to my knowledge none of them have any intention of going back.

Try Legacy for awhile and see how you like it, it doesn't have to
cost you anything.
